Gymnema Description: Gymnema extract as root or shoot leaf extract of Asclepiadaceae plants of the genus Gymnema sylvestre, contains saponins, sterols and other compounds. It has the effect of lowering blood sugar, lowering blood fat, anti caries and inhibiting sweet taste. Gymnemic acid can directly inhibit the absorption of glucose in the intestinal; sugar is another component of gymnema leaves which can inhabit the peptide and gymnemic acid shows can block the ability of the human to taste sweet.
