Function: In Europe, nettle is used as diuretic, astringent, hemostat, expectorant and emulsion, for arthritis and chronic dermatosis. The external use of urticaria is used for seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff and prevention of alopecia. In Turkey, local herd experts used nettle herb to prevent various diseases and almost replace all medicinal plants. Nettle preparations are widely applied abroad (especially in Germany): German medicine "rheumatism" is an extract of nettle leaves, has anti-inflammatory activity, and is one of the 5 most commonly used drugs in Germany, and plays an important role in OTC drugs. Recent studies have found that the methanol extracts of nettle 20% have antitumor activity and can inhibit the proliferation of prostate cancer cells.
